Permanent collection and exhibition of paintings by Masayuki Matsushima,
New cultural facility for the promotion of art and culture
In 1989, the Masayuki Matsushima Painting Hall was established in the Civic Hall, following the donation of paintings by the artist Masayuki Matsushima, who was a part-time lecturer at the Iwamizawa Branch of the Hokkaido University of Education (1965-1972). Currently, the hall is used as a venue for enjoying the world of painting and sound, with concerts held several times a year in the exhibition room.
